Captain America #28 [Spoilers]

As always, it's nice to have a book coming that I'm sure of not being disappointed in.

A couple of thoughts. I'm very impressed with the way the Falcon and Sharon have been working together. (I'm also impressed with the weight the Falcon's wings can support--first carrying the doubtlessly heavy Winter Soldier in #25, now flying around with Sharon on his back.) Oh, and those internet folks who seem to see a "relationship" blosssoming between the two of them? I don't see it, at least not based on anything I've seen in the comic. They were friendly beforehand (didn't Sharon say in some earlier issue that the only superheroes she had any use for were Cap and the Falcon?), and may have bonded further over their grief, but not every male/female comic partnership has to end up in the sack. Seriously.

The Tony Stark we see here is probably my favorite Tony these days, and that includes his appearances in his own book. There's a weariness about him that seems very true--a man who is making the best of a bad situation he himself created.

Speaking of Tony's segment, I know that folks are wondering what is in that letter--I'm also wondering whether it's legitimate. The letter was to be delivered if Cap died--the Skull's plan has some element that required Cap to die--you've got to wonder about that. (Although I rather hope it is for real.)

One more thing: if Crossbones is missing memories, so as not to be searchable by SHIELD's telepaths (or, indeed, Professor Xavier, who makes a guest appearance this issue--by the way, he's no longer in the wheelchair?--guess it's been a while since I've read anything X-related!), Sin may be a bit disappointed in her welcome when she goes to rescue him. Hope not, though--I really enjoy the whole sociopathic Bonnie and Clyde thing the two of them have going.

Hey BrainFreeze...I love your blog, and as for making your kiddies read comics..well,its never too early to ingrain them!

Well as for Cap? Its one of the best books on the shelves..Ed Brubaker is the man! Check out my blog if you want..I just rant about comics and movies.

Keep up the good work
